There’s a lot to consider when planning an event for your group. Whether you have a 100-person corporate event or a small group of friends, Mr Treasure Hunt has answers to your event-planning questions.
Q: How does your pricing work?
A: We have various pricing options for you, depending upon level of customization and size of group etc. We offer facilitated events for group who want a full-service experience featuring Mr Treasure Hunt introducing and explaining your event and distributing materials. At the end of the event Mr Treasure Hunt will go over all of it with you, and we will conduct a thorough discussion on team-building as it pertains to your group. Many of our team-building events also include prizes so your teams will have something tangible to aim for while working together and building teamwork!
Q: Do you have any indoor treasure hunts?
A: YES, we have indoor hunts at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the California Academy of Sciences, the Exploratorium, and the DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, and the Stanford Museums on campus as well! We also feature a very popular event in the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. So you can enjoy a treasure hunt even in a rainstorm!
Q: What does Mr Treasure Hunt do?
A: Mr Treasure Hunt designs and organizes sets of clues within a geographical area, typically within San Francisco or the Bay Area, for teams of amateur sleuths to work together to solve. Treasure hunts bring people and their diverse backgrounds together in a fun and friendly team-building environment. Clues may involve landmarks, restaurants, retail stores, parks, art galleries, and much more. All you need is an adventurous spirit and a desire to have some fun! You’ll get some exercise too while you learn about the neighborhood! Our outdoor events now include Augmented Reality as well!
Q: What type of customization is available?
A: We offer many types of customization for your events so your group will experience an event made especially for them. With our Augmented Reality app, we can customize messages and also include images, which makes for a very special event built just for you! Contact us for more information and tell us a bit about your group so we can get started customizing a treasure hunt for your group.
Q: How long do the events last?
A: With our many years of experience creating and running scavenger hunts, we have found that an event of 2 – 2.5 hours is ideal for a group to be able to maximize their teamwork and explore a neighborhood or museum. We’re happy to adjust an event to fit your group’s schedule if you find you have 1 – 2 hours, and we can also add some more fun if you prefer a 3-4 hour scavenger hunt.

Q: What is the difference between Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality?
A: Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are both immersive technologies, but they differ in how they interact with the real world. AR overlays digital content onto the real world, while VR creates a completely computer-generated environment that users can interact with Mr Treasure Hunt uses AR, which enhances your event experience without requiring a VR helmet or special glasses.
Q: Is a treasure hunt the same as a scavenger hunt?
A: Not really. We won’t make you take any photos of cops eating donuts or make you sing in public or anything like that! A treasure hunt is a well-organized, clue-oriented game designed to create a team-building environment. You just need to bring yourself and your sense of adventure! But you can bring a donut for any cops you see if you like. Mr Treasure Hunt also will occasionally add a scavenger hunt feature to your event too, just to keep you on your toes! Either way you will experience great team building results!
Q: What types of people have done your treasure hunts?
A: Groups of all sizes (including groups over 200 people!) have participated in Mr Treasure Hunt events, including corporations, non-profits, and private parties.
Q: Can we do an event without facilitation?
A: YES – our events are easy to run and involve NO PREPARATION or setup if you would prefer to do a Mr Treasure Hunt event on a Self-Facilitated basis. We will email you the clue package, map, solutions, and simple instructions so all you need to do is print and distribute to your teams. And these Self-Facilitated events are available for a lower price.
Q: How much notice do you need to schedule an event?
A: Depending on our schedule, sometimes within just a few days is enough time to book your event. And since we offer Self-Facilitated events, we can provide you with a great team-building scavenger hunt even if we are booked on the day you’re interested in.
Q: Can you include our company’s values or mission in the event?
A: Yes, absolutely! From the clue-solving portion of the event, to the AR solution messages and images, customizing our events to fit what YOU value is our priority and will give your group a special event designed just for them.

Q: Will we need to download an app for a scavenger hunt?
A: Yes, for our outdoor events, we have incorporated AR into the clues. Check out how easy it is to download our proprietary AR app and even try it yourself no matter where you are to see how it works!
Q: Are your events good for all ages?
A: Our events are designed for adults and kids >12 years old . If you’re doing a family event or party you can certainly have kids of all ages participate! The younger kids can help with photos and finding solutions – but the solving may be a bit challenging your younger kids.
