Since 2020, Mr Treasure Hunt has been incorporating Augmented Reality into our events, and the response has been very positive! Here are some of the reasons that our Augmented Reality app is making Mr Treasure Hunt events a big hit with our groups:
- Our Augmented Reality app allows us to place virtual “markers” anywhere we like. In traditional treasure hunts groups rely entirely on “real-life” clue solutions, like plaques and statues or other objects that are permanent fixtures in a neighborhood. Many neighborhoods lack the rich collection of historic and culturally significant plaques etc so a treasure hunt using only real-life clue solutions ends up using objects that are not particularly interesting. Mr Treasure Hunt always strives to educate and entertain groups as they solve our clues and explore treasure hunt areas.
- In addition to creating interesting virtual markers as clue solutions in our events, we can also place these markers anywhere so we can spread out clue solutions to enhance the events further. Many neighborhood feature a main street which is where much of the interesting real-life clue solutions exist. This can lead to treasure hunt teams walking the same stretch of that main street along with their competing teams, and inhibits the spreading out of teams which encourages teams to work together to solve clues and navigate the area efficiently.
- Augmented Reality means we can use YOUR ideas and input as clue solutions! Whether you have a corporate group or private party, seeing custom images and messages appear on your phones at select locations is always a thrill for a group and offers that extra level of customization! Recently,we created a treasure hunt on the property of a family celebrating a birthday. We asked the family to provide some fun and interesting information about the birthday person, and they gave us great information which we used as clue solutions AS WELL as in the solving of clue locations.
- Our Augmented Reality app also features image-recognition so we can incorporate the app into museum events for tours. Simple open the app and point your camera at various pieces of art, and custom messages pop up on your phone screen!
- Augmented Reality is FUN! Mr Treasure Hunt events combine challenging puzzles and clues and creative challenges in addition to our Augmented Reality to create a full team experience for your group!
